Policy & Impact Assessment

DQMC’s CCTV Policy and Data Processing Impact Assessment are available. These documents inform residents of DQMC’s CCTV practices, how data is appropriately managed, lists agencies that are granted access and how information is disclosed.

Compliance

DQMC has completed and complied with the Information Commissioner’s Office Checklist for limited CCTV systems. The CCTV system is registered with the ICO (certificate available here). Specifically DQMC has:

1. Conducted a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) to identify and mitigate potential data protection risks.
2. Installed clear signage prominently displaying signs informing individuals they are entering a CCTV monitored area.
3. Secured footage by implementing strict access controls for recorded material and ensuring secure storage.
4. Established appropriate retention periods by retaining footage only for the necessary duration, then securely erasing it.
5. Established a clear process for handling Subject Access Requests (SARs) so that individuals can request access to footage of themselves.
6. Regularly reviewed the CCTV system to assess its ongoing necessity and effectiveness.
   
   

Your privacy

Below are still images captured from the CCTV system. To ensure residents’ privacy, image areas that look directly at building windows have been obscured. If any resident feels that the image involving their property is still too intrusive, please contact the data processor at dqmcdeganwy@gmail.com to resolve the issue.

Requests

Video footage may be requested as a Subject Access Request (SAR) or to support an authorised body’s investigation (usually the Police or insurance company) into criminal or antisocial behaviour.

A Subject Access Request allows you to request a copy of the personal video data DQMC holds about you under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. SARs can be made verbally, in writing, or online, and do not require legal representation. DQMC’s web form for SAR applications is available here.

A request to support an investigation can be made using the form available here. Please provide evidence of the request as we are obliged to keep records of any downloads. Approved requests for footage will be available for download and not on a physical medium.
