History of Deganwy Quay
Deganwy Quay is over 125 years old and it has evolved from a dock to a residential development. Its history is outlined in this excellent document published by the Deganwy History Group. At the bottom of this page, there are pictures (circa 2001) of Deganwy Quay before development.
DQMC
The estate has common areas (and associated services) that require management and this is the primary responsibility of the Deganwy Quay Management Company (DQMC). DQMC was formed in February 2012; it is a non-trading company with its company’s address at Premier Estates, Macclesfield. The common areas are the roads and footpaths, estate and apartment gardens. DQMC also provides services to the apartment blocks.

The Directors of DQMC are home owners on Deganwy Quay and one representative each from The Quay Hotel and Deganwy Marina. The Directors form the Board of DQMC and are appointed for a year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
DQMC is governed by its ‘Articles of Association’ which are lodged at Companies House, Cardiff. These Articles describes DQMC, its objectives and rules by which the Company must be run.

- Manage relationships with all third-party suppliers and other organisations on behalf of DQMC.
- Appoint, manage and monitor the annual performance of and cost effectiveness of the Managing Agent to ensure value for money and efficacy for the property owners and businesses.
- Manage the process for approval or otherwise of all external building alterations in line with the lease and related covenants.
The Board meet quarterly to fulfil these objectives. The minutes of Board meetings are taken and maintained by the Managing Agent in their role as Company Secretary. The minutes of the Board meetings are available to property owners on request. A full description of the Board’s objectives and operations is available here.
